Explore what the Tolkien Mythos tells us about our Present Era and our Relationships to Time and Unfulfilled Desire

The mythology underlying Tolkien’s great fantasy works is like a distant mirror of our own age and has much to tell us about the cycling of ages, androgyny, eros, desire and our experience of time.

The same is true of everything else…It is not just that ‘we are all in it’ together. We all are it, rising and falling as one living body.” Francis Cook  (location of Godhead) When Jesus was asked, “When will the kingdom come?” He replied: “It will not come by waiting for it…Rather, the Kingdom of the Father is spread out upon the earth, and men do not see it.” Jesus also said, “…the Kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you.”  —Gospel of Thomas, Gnostic Gospels “God is nearer to me than I am to myself; He is just as near to wood and stone, but they do not know it.”  —Meister Eckart Note: This is a working copy of an unfinished treatise on androgyny as the key to unlock many of the mysteries of: the 6,000 years of Feminine-hating dominator societies that continue to rule our world, key forms of religious extremism, the torturous enchantments of romantic relations, [...]

The Mutant versus the Machine, the End of the Iron Age, and the Galactic Alignment of 2012

© 2004, 2008 Jonathan Zap Edited by Austin Iredale Note: This is not meant to be a serious meditation on 2012, but is more of a somewhat surreal journal entry describing a zone of heightened synchronicities, etc. To find out what I really think of 2012 read: Carnival 2012—a Psychological Study of the 2012 Phenomenon and the 22 Classic Pitfalls and Blind Spots of Esoteric Research The Equinox party at the Circle A Ranch—a communal living situation created by young anarchists at the outskirts of Boulder, Colorado—was a magical nexus for me, one of those zones of heightened synchronicity where many threads of the great tapestry wove together into a pattern recognizable, even revelatory. With a luck that felt almost uncanny, the unpredictable lottery of high desert weather had produced a glorious winner. The first day of spring turned out to be a preview of summer, and the unexpected warmth of the evening felt almost like an enchantment, an invitation into mystery. The Circle A Ranch has an improbable location, surrounded by many acres of open fields, at the distant circumference of which were the twinkling lights of suburban houses and strip malls. It seemed to be placed at the center of [...]

Casting Precious Into the Cracks of Doom-Androgyny, Alchemy, Evolution and the One Ring

This essay will explore androgyny at the core of many of the mysteries of: the 6,000 years of Feminine-hating dominator societies that continue to rule our world, key forms of religious extremism, the torturous enchantments of romantic relations, gender identity, and the core meaning of the ring symbolism and other aspects of the Tolkien mythology. Androgyny is the key that unlocks many of the most difficult paradoxes and delusions of the interlocking realms of eros, religion, psychology, gender relations, spirituality and sexuality. We will begin with a discourse on what androgyny is and isn’t, its history and role in human development individually and historically. The second part will employ androgyny as a key to unlock the ring symbolism of the Tolkien mythology which will expand the meaning of androgyny and illustrate its extreme relevance to the present human predicament individually and collectively.
