Viewing from Cosmic Vantage

Access your emotionally neutral, higher thinking, cosmic vision. Ironically, what farseeing vision often reveals are the obvious truths that are right in front of our faces, but which are nevertheless hard to recognize. The personal view can trap us in the forever chaos of he said/she said. An impersonal or cosmic view requires fiercely looking into things without emotional entanglement.

Look Beneath the Surface

Look Beneath the Surface

Ready to travel beneath the surface. The Babylon Matrix would like to keep you focused on surfaces and appearances, but this is a propitious time to pull back the veils and look beneath the surface. We are many-layered beings living in a many-layered world. If your gaze is arrested by a particular layer, then you are relatively blind to the other layers. Some are captivated by the he said/she said soap opera layer. For others, the money layer is predominant. For still others, some particular layer of the internet or certain video games or a certain genre of pornography or an academic specialty are the supreme layer. But to bind ourselves to any particular layer means living in a flatland, and we are capable of much more than that. No matter how many layers we pull back there are always more. Exploring the multiverse is like trying to peel the layers off of an eleven dimensional onion. As British Astrophysicist Arthur Eddington put it: “Not only is the universe stranger than we imagine, it is stranger than we can imagine.” Consider this a propitious time to recognize that there is more going on than meets the daylight eyes of the [...]

Cosmic View

Cosmic View

Access your emotionally neutral, higher thinking, cosmic vision. Ironically, what farseeing vision often reveals are the obvious truths that are right in front of our faces, but which are nevertheless hard to recognize. The personal view can trap us in the forever chaos of he said/she said. An impersonal or cosmic view requires fiercely looking into things without emotional entanglement. Avoid significant decisions and actions while in a state of emotional agitation. Get past the point of view of internal considering where everything is viewed by the ego as a blessing or a curse. Cut through to the core of what is going on. One way to do this with your life is to ask yourself the question: What will I remember well on my deathbed?

Stranger than you can Think

Stranger than you can Think

As Arthur Eddington put it, “Reality is not only stranger than you think, it’s stranger than you can think.” Don’t cringe from the unknowable strangeness; embrace it. It is what gives your existence an edge of mystery; it is what generated your existence. Leave space around your certainties for all those unknown X factors potently operating outside the box of what you presently comprehend. And remember that as you expand the sphere of your awareness you will also expand the circumference of the unknown that surrounds you.

Abundant Universe

Abundant Universe

“Happiness does not depend on outward things, but on the way we see them.” – Tolstoy This is an abundant universe. Put quotation marks around the voices in your head that are endlessly worried about scarcity of money, resources, opportunities, romantic partners, etc. Look up at a clear night’s sky and think about how much real estate is out there — ca. 100,000,000,000 stars in just our galaxy, and by some estimates 500,000,000,000 galaxies in the universe with many physicists now saying that our universe is just a tiny bubble in an ever expanding foam of multiverse. The universe has created 50,000,000,000,000 cells just to sheath you in a corporeal body for this one difficult incarnation where apparent scarcity and other hardships are part of the abundance of developmental forces. My friend Rob Breszny wrote a book entitled Pronoia. According to the book, Pronoia is a term “…coined in the mid-1970s by Grateful Dead lyricist and cofounder of the Electronic Frontier Foundation, John Perry Barlow, who defined it as the opposite of paranoia: ‘the suspicion that the universe is a conspiracy on your behalf.’ ” It is easy to view life as a catastrophe, a catastrophe we can head off [...]

Microcosm

Microcosm

Microcosm and macrocosm. Like a fractal, like a hologram, the small part recapitulates the whole. You are a microcosm of the human species and of the universe. If you fully comprehended yourself (an almost impossible task) you would know about the species and the whole universe.By looking within you can see everything. You are interacting with a microcosm right now. Oracles are designed to be microcosmic reflections of the macrocosm of you and your relationship to the cosmos. A good oracle contains archetypal signifiers — cards, hexagrams, etc. — which capture many of the key overarching patterns of human life. The more of these essential patterns an oracle contains, the better it is able to function as a parallel microcosm. This card relates to oracles and the principle of synchronicity and indicates a propitious time to consult oracles. Since you are consulting an oracle, this shows you to be presently in tune with the Tao. An oracle consultation is a conscious synchronicity, a microcosmic mirror of your macrocosmic orientation toward the Tao. Depending on the position of this card in your spread, you may want to do further readings on other aspects of your life. This is also a propitious [...]

The Thinker

The Thinker

Intense, cosmic thinking — probing the underlying structures. What is happening at the core level? The probing mind needs to be guided by intuition, and we should also keep in mind what J.B.S. Haldane pointed out (paraphrased): “Reality is not only stranger than you think, it is stranger than you can think.” Some people glorify the thinking function and have an inflated over-valuation of superficial rationality. Others, particularly people on Eastern paths or identifying with the New Age, villianize the mind and ego and say you must get rid of these crucial psychic functions. Both points of view consider a degraded type of thinking. The mind and the ego are invaluable allies when they are correctly oriented in the hierarchy of psychic functions. The Self, which Jung defined as the totality of all the layers of the psyche, and the guidance of its global intuition and visionary insight, needs to be in the ruling position. The mind and the ego should be in the position of ministers or cabinet members working for the Self. The mind and ego can work together, for example, to figure out how to mediate between the inner and outer world, how to take the visions [...]

Pulling back the Curtain

Pulling back the Curtain

In order not to live continually clouded by the many wizards of deception, you must keep your will focused on pulling back the curtain. First you must never lose sight of the curtain and the awareness that there are forces just out of sight, manipulating our perception, even constructing the reality we perceive. We look about at a world of seemingly solid objects while intellectually we know it is mostly empty space inhabited by subatomic particles, some of which are clouds of probability not to be located in any particular place. We tend to experience our bodies as a coherent whole when we are actually a cooperative network of fifty trillion cells, each of them like a small city with numerous processes going on simultaneously. There is, in other words, a curtain hiding vast complexity and strangeness from all of our sense perceptions. For example, a living, breathing person enters my perceptual field and stands before me. I do not see his fifty trillion cells. I do not see the bizarre world of subatomic particles or vibrating multi-dimensional super strings or whatever it is that makes up those cells. What I do see is ambient light reflecting off the topography [...]

Conscious Witnessing

Conscious Witnessing

One of the greatest gifts you can give the world is mindful attention. A central witness personality within yourself lessens the ever-present possibility of acting out your destructive unconscious aspects in the outer world. It can also mitigate the power of destructive inner voices and subpersonalities that might otherwise seize power unnoticed. Mindful witnessing of what is going on in other people and in the world around you can be a potently healing force. Of course direct engagement is often what’s called for, but recognition of an appropriate call to action usually derives from conscious witnessing. In many cases you can maintain your conscious witness while directly engaged and bring a quality of mindfulness to your present actions.

Wise Feminine Contemplation

Wise Feminine Contemplation

We are culturally conditioned to contemplate people, opportunities and states of being from the point of view of immature masculinity: How much money will it make? What’s hot? What’s not? Is it loaded with enough bells and whistles to spike my blood sugar? t is easy to get so caught up in the bustle of life that we don’t take time to reflect on what’s really going on. Oracles are meant to be archetypal mirrors of where we are in our lives. Keeping a journal is another great way to reflect on what is happening. As Socrates says, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Wise contemplation involves listening to the quiet, compassionate voices within. A shortcut to wise, feminine contemplation is to ask of each possibility: Will I remember this well on my deathbed?

Despondent Angel

Despondent Angel

Despondent angel: Look Up! So often the small abrasions of every day life cause our gaze to gravitate downward, but there are so many things in our lives that are helping to raise up our spirits, but that we do not acknowledge. Look up, and see all the amazing possibilities that being alive is presenting you. The journey of your life would be very boring if darkness were not interwoven into it. The downward gaze is self-referential and internally considering. Raise your gaze through external considering, empathically connecting to what other people are experiencing and feeling. Great horizons open when you will yourself to raise the downward gaze.
